institution dedicated to empowering rural India through science, innovation, and community
participation.
Guided by the Gandhian philosophy and the legacy of Kumarappa, CSV(Center of science for villages)
blends traditional wisdom with modern scientific approaches to address real-world rural challenges -
CSV(Center of science for villages), is now emerging as a harbinger of new-age learning and equity-based cooperation in rural India, viewing every village as a creative community of potential—capable of self-reliance, innovation, and participatory governance. It acts as a living laboratory where economic, ecological, educational, justice-driven, and cultural dimensions are integrated into humane models of rural life, with equity-based cooperatives at the heart of shared value, voice, and ownership.
It envisages to align local production, local skills, local ecology, and local governance to demonstrate a decentralized, democratic, and sustainable economic system that nurtures a peaceful, vibrant, and spiritually rooted ecosystem. इस बार गाँधी जयंती को CSV , कुमारप्पा campus, वर्धा में मनाया।
एक वन जब वीरान उजाढ़ हो जाता है, और अपनी शक्ति से स्वयं को पुनः जीवित नहीं कर पाता, तब उसे इंतजार रहता है, कि कहीं से कोई पीपल या बरगद उग आयेगा, या कोई बाघ भटकता हुआ या कोई कोबरा , भटककर आ जायेगा और वहां वास करने लगेगा ।
बस वन वहीं से वापस बस जायेगा और स्वयंभू हो जायेगा।
इस बार पहली बार वर्धा यात्रा में यही भाव आया कि वन में वह पीपल या बरगद या बाघ , वापस आ गया है।
मेरा पक्का विश्वास है कि यही भाव , वहां आये हर व्यक्ति को महसूस हुआ होगा। और उसकी महक, सभी ओर जायेगी।
CSV एक ऐतिहासिक व गहरी संस्था रही। उद्देश्य, प्रौद्योगिकी को भारत के अनुसार स्वरूप देना ताकि यहां के किसान , कारीगर व समाज, तकनीक व उत्पादन की अपनी समझ खोकर , स्वराज ही न खो दे।
इसलिये पिछले पांच दशक में ऐसे सभी प्रयोगों और संस्थानों पर पूंजीवाद का भयंकर प्रहार हुआ। और वन वीरान होता गया, सूखता गया। भारत भर में ऐसे संस्थान , सिर्फ काल्पनिक संवादों का स्थान बन गये , या फिर व्यक्तिगत असुरक्षा, या आस्था के स्थान बन गये।
अब जब समाज , बहुत तरीके से डरा हुआ है - जिसने पूंजी को लक्ष्य बनाया और गैर भारतीय विचार को सर्वोच्च रखा, वह उसके हल्केपन से डरता है। जिसने श्रम और भारतीयता आधारित जीवन में ही आस्था रखी, वह पूंजी के छल बल से डरने लगा।
ऐसे में CSV में हुई प्रगति ने वही वन और बाघ आने वाला भाव जगा दिया। इस विचार गोष्ठी में हर वर्ग से, खासकर बहुत गांवों से किसान आये थे। और बहुत गहरी समझ लिये वक्ता भी।
और सारा संवाद परिवार जैसा बैठकर, समाधान मूलक हुआ।
Sri Pradeep Sharma , और उनके साथ जुझारू युवाओं ने पिछले दो वर्ष में बहुत कार्य किया है। इनके प्रति सभी लोग कृतज्ञ हैं ।
सभी सीनियर्स, विभा दीदी ने खासकर, ने अपना पूरा ज्ञान व विरासत, अगली पीढ़ी को दी है। उनका दशकों का संघर्ष स्थानीय उत्पादन व किसानों के लिये, पूरी व्यवस्था के प्रवाह के विपरीत जो रहा है, वह शब्दों में बयान नहीं हो सकता। सिर्फ महसूस हो सकता है।
यह तो बस पुनः शुरुआत ही है। यहां से सभी का कर्तव्य है कि CSV और उसके माध्यम से पूरे ecosystem को बल मिले। युवाओं के लिये तो यहां अनन्त है सीखने को, और आने वाली दुनिया के निर्माण में अग्रणी होने को।
